Meet the team
The medical negligence team is led by Partner Duncan Gardiner who has considerable experience of handling medical negligence claims and a national reputation for this type of work.
The team also includes Associate Solicitor, Jane McBennett who qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and has specialised in medical negligence for over 20 years.
The Medical Negligence team includes solicitors who are members of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme, the Medical Negligence charity- Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) and APIL.
Duncan leads the firm's medical negligence department. He has particular expertise in dealing with birth injuries, fatality claims (including failure to diagnose and/or treat cancer) and inquests as well as claims arising from cosmetic surgery procedures. He continues to deal with the full range of cases from the most serious to more modest injuries. He has over 20 years' experience of dealing with medical negligence cases exclusively on behalf of claimants.
Jane has over 25 years’ experience as a medical negligence specialist and has worked on many high-profile cases. Jane’s expertise includes birth injury (including cerebral palsy), brain injury, spinal injury, gynaecological/obstetric and urological claims.
Anna qualified as a Solicitor in 2011 and has experience in dealing with a wide variety of claims including, misdiagnosis of fractures and other medical conditions, claims against GPs, delay in diagnosis, surgical error and urogynaecology.
Oonagh qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 and works on a wide range of cases including claims arising from fatalities, orthopaedic procedures/general surgery, nursing care (e.g. pressure sores), and inappropriate drug prescription.
Jodie has over 10 years’ experience working in a legal environment. She joined the clinical negligence team in March 2012 dealing with a wide range of cases and has specific responsibility for and experience in assisting clients with the complaints procedures for the NHS as well as other medical and dental organisations. Her other areas of expertise also include carrying out technical research and reviews into medical treatment and providing general initial advice to clients regarding the claims procedure and methods of funding.
